Stern test for Cobras U16s

Date published: 03 March 2014

Rochdale Cobras U16s had a stern test at Folly Lane.

With a team full of scholarship players Folly Lane dominated with wave after wave of fast attacking play and quickly scored.

It took Cobras a good ten minutes to get a foothold in the game and they held Folly off for a good 15 minutes but with Folly having a bigger pack and very strong runners the inevitable happened and Folly scored again.

Cobras began the second half a lot better and some great running from Castro Sibanda and Matty Kirkham got Cobras into good field position; quick hands from Leonard and Dawson put Simpson in for a score.

This sparked Folly into overdrive and after good play they scored again.

Cobras dug deep and played their hearts out for the remainder of the game but came up short against much better opposition.

Cobras are looking to recruit new players if you are year 10 or 11 and fancy giving rugby league a try contact Mark on 0794 916 1807.
