Norden completed a clean sweep of the Lake Garage Central Lancashire League’s major trophies when they claimed two titles on Sunday.

With the JW Lees Bitter Wood Cup, Burton Cup and Tom Hardman T20 Trophy already in the club’s vault they added the CLL Premiership, CLL second teams’ premiership and aggregate trophies to their haul.

First team skipper Simon North broke away from the celebrations to say: “It has been a fantastic achievement.

“The lads have shown commitment and dedication throughout the season, and we have had wonderful consistency from key players which has helped us to keep churning out performances.

“Everyone has played their part, and it has proved that we have strength in depth in the squad.”

The Stags clinched the points they needed with a five-pointer at Royton.

Soon after that match finished the second team defeated Unsworth seconds to bring in more silverware.

Proud skipper Paul Morrell said: “I think we have played proper second team cricket. Yes, we have had some experienced players in the team, but we have also given the youngsters a chance.

“Those youngsters are already good, and they are going to become very very good cricketers in the future. Overall it has been a very young team.”

The first team game at Royton saw the home side lose their first wicket on 19 when a throw from Steve Pimm resulted in Kamran Hussein being run out.

Tony Welsh and Liam Brown then pushed the score up to 60 before Steve Wild took a catch to dismiss Brown and give Ollie Makin the first of his five wickets.

Welsh went without addition, caught by Dan Buckley, Dunne was caught by Harvey Fitton one run later, and Royton’s slump continued to 93 for eight.

Pieter Malan and Smith halted the flow of wickets and took the total to 137 before Daniel Salpietro captured his fourth wicket of the match by taking a return catch from Smith.

The innings ended one run later when Warwick was leg before to Makin, professional Malan stranded unbeaten on 36.

Salpietro and Simon Harman gave the reply a decent start. Salpietro smashed Adam Good for a six, but was bowled next delivery.

Harman was out for 39 with the total on 92, and it was down to Simon North (45 not out) and Nick Brierley (28 not out) to round off the match.
