Heybrook Primary School were crowned champions for the second year running after winning the annual Rochdale Borough five-a-side tournament.

Year five and six pupils from Heybrook Primary went up against teams from Healey, Shawclough, All Saints and Spotland in the tournament at Falinge Park High School.

The tournament was played in a round robin style in which each team had to play four matches with each game lasting a total of seven minutes. The team with the most points after the games was then named winner of the tournament.

With a total of eight goals scored and only two conceded, the team took the title winning three out of four matches.

Heybrook coach, Mr Hussain, said: “It was a very competitive tournament with some excellent football being played so to have won it makes me extremely proud of my team.”
