Joanna Rowsell in team for World Championships in Paris

Date published: 18 February 2015

Middleton cyclist Joanna Rowsell is part of the British team at the UCI World Championships taking place in Paris this week.

Reigning double world champion Joanna will be joined by fellow world champions Katie Archibald, Elinor Barker, Laura Trott, and Ciara Horne.

Qualifying for the team purist took place this afternoon (Wednesday 18 February) with finals taking place tomorrow (Thursday 19 February) evening.

In Paris, the women’s endurance team will be going for their fifth successive world title after taking gold in both the World Cup rounds they started this winter.

Britain has dominated women's team pursuit, winning all but one world title in the event since it was introduced in 2008.

Joanna will be looking to defend her individual pursuit title on Friday (20 February).

Joanna is a five times world champion, four times team pursuit champion and a member of the Great British cycling team. She moved to Boarshaw, Middleton in 2010 and often does her training at Middleton Arena.
