Mayfield Preview

Date published: 18 March 2015

After the disappointment of last week's defeat Mayfield face a tough task when they entertain Thatto Heath at the Mayfield Sports Centre on Saturday.

Thatto were pushed all the way by newly promoted Oulton Raiders last week as they won 32 – 24 at home.

Mayfield will take heart in that but also know that they finished in the play off zone last season in what is a very competitive league.

Coaches Calland and Butterworth will have instilled the need for improved discipline into their team after last week and will be hoping they have done enough at training this week.

There could, depending on circumstances, be a couple of changes to the team but the coaches will leave it as late as possible before naming their seventeen.

Dave Harmer's NWML side are also at home where they take on Leyland Warriors.

Leyland went down at home last week to Leigh Miners while Mayfield's game was cancelled due to a bereavement in the opposition's camp. This too will be a tough game for the Rochdale side as they look to get off to a winning start.

Fixtures 21 March 2015

NCL Premier Division: Mayfield v Thatto Heath (2.30pm)

NWML Division Two: Mayfield v Leyland (2.30pm)
