County age group programme supported by LCCC Foundation

The LCCC Foundation has provided a £25,000 Development Fund Grant to support the Lancashire Cricket Board to provide county age group cricketers with coaching and competition opportunities during the 2015 season.

The Lancashire Cricket Board is responsible for all junior county squads for both boys (Under 10s to Under 19s) and girls (Under 11s to Under 17s) and the Emerging Players Programme which feeds into the Lancashire County Cricket Club Academy.

The funding being provided by the LCCC Foundation will help to support this annual programme run by LCB's Performance Department, providing the best young cricket talent from across Lancashire with access to high quality coaching and competition opportunities to develop their skills and help them to progress.

Sandy Mitchell, Head of Community Development for the LCCC Foundation, said: “To be able to support the best young talent in the County is important to the LCCC Foundation. The programme compliments and enhances the great work already carried out by the LCCC Foundation, Lancashire Cricket Board and Lancashire County Cricket Club, helping to engage and inspire different sections of the community across all levels of the cricketing spectrum.”
