Church's appeal to make wedding day special

Date published: 02 September 2010

The secretary of St Andrew’s Church in Rochdale is appealing for the publics help to make the church look nice for a wedding following recent vandalism.

The church, close to Rochdale bus station suffered from vandalism in August. The windows of the church were damaged and have now been boarded up.

On the 18 September a wedding is taking place at the church and Ms Hicks is calling on the people of Rochdale for some help to make the building look better for this special day.

A wedding day is an important day in anybody’s life, especially the bride, and Ms Hicks doesn’t want the boarded up windows to spoil the day.

Mrs Hicks said: “St Andrew’s Church windows have been boarded up due to recent vandalism and the inside of the church is even worse due to the very badly damaged windows. On the 18 September a wedding is due to take place.

“We would some how like some help to get the place looking nicer for the bride.

“I don’t know in what way, but we are trying to make it good for the day.”

If you are able to help the church in anyway to improve the surroundings for the wedding contact Jan Hicks on 01706 648 779 or email janhicks@btinternet.com
