Award for fostering team
Date published: 20 March 2007
Fostering and adoption staff in Rochdale borough are celebrating the success of their efforts to promote their service on the internet.
The team won an award for best content for a business web page/mini site in the Rochdale Online Awards in which a team from the local college and three commercial businesses were also shortlisted.
As a business web page or mini site is effectively a full page or multi-page advert, the judges wanted to see content that would be likely to persuade site visitors to make contact.
The service's recruitment and marketing officer, Nick Clegg, received a framed certificate and a piece of unique Blanthorn glass worth hundreds of pounds on behalf of the team from Mr John Kay, of the event sponsor Molesworths Bright Clegg Solicitors.
Councillor Irene Davidson, the Cabinet member of Children, Schools and Families, said: quot;Attracting more people to fostering and adoption is a very important part of improving the lives of children locally and I'm very pleased to see that the team's hard work to publicise this important role has been recognised with this award."
