The winner of Rochdale’s Got Talent took to the stage today (Saturday 14 August 2010) to perform at this year’s Feel Good Festival.

Ellysse Mason, from Syke was named Rochdale’s most talented in May and since then her confidence has rocketed and her self-penned tracks are as inspiring as ever.

Ms Mason performed amongst various artists at one of the festival’s fringe venues, Touchstones.

Friends, family and fans packed in the venue to listen to Ms Mason who entertained them with her Rochdale’s Got Talent final song “Spotlight” and other songs with lyrics focused on teenage life.

Ms Mason plays the guitar as well as singing the songs she has written herself and the reaction from the crowd was breath taking – her music certainly has you tapping your feet and smiling at the words.

Festival organiser Howard Monk described Ms Mason as a “future superstar” Mr Monk isn’t a fan of talent competitions but was a fan of Ms Mason’s talent.

At the end of her performance Ms Mason said: “I think it went really well, I really enjoyed myself.
“I feel so lucky to be involved with the Feel Good Festival and I really appreciate being given the chance to be involved.”

Since the talent competition Ms Mason has been working on various other songs, her focus at the moment is a track titled “I would.”

“I have been doing as much as I can and things have gone really well since the competition.”

Emma Travis, Ms Mason’s mum, was thrilled with her part in the Feel Good Festival.

“I think it went great she seemed to really enjoy it and so did everybody else.

“The festival is wonderful and it has been a brilliant experience for Ellysse, things like this give her a chance to get her fingers into as many things as possible.

“I am very proud,” she said.

Good on you, hopefully you will make some money and get out of Rochdale as quick as you can. So cool to see girls playing guitars.
