Falinge High School Prom
Date published: 25 June 2008
Falinge High School students celebrated the end of school with the now traditional 'prom' tonight (Wednesday 25 June), this year held at the Norton Grange Hotel in Castleton.
Many students arrived in style clubbing together to book limousines, in fact, so many that security had to form an orderly queue! One student, David Butterworth, who bucked the limo trend having "blagged" a lift in a Bentley, said: "I had lots of people coming up to me telling me it is an awesome, beautiful car."
During his speech to students, Head Teacher Robin Lonsdale said: “The year group, if you think about how well we’ve held together for the past five years, everybody, boys and girls, black and white, are all mingling, that’s what you want, not a breath of problems, and believe it or not we don’t say it every year. The teachers agree we are going to miss this years year eleven.”
Following the meal, the speeches and the prize giving, a special night for year eleven ended with a staff and students conga dance out of the main building, whereupon the teachers waved farewell and gave their best wishes to their students.
