Nutters Restaurant Prestigious Gala Dinner

Date published: 29 April 2004

“Nutters” famous restaurant had become so popular that the old premises could no longer cope with the demand. Owner Andrew Nutter therefore decided to relocate to bigger premises, the old Manor building, on the outskirts of Norden. Following the recent opening of the new restaurant a prestigious Gala dinner was held to celebrate the move.

The black tie dinner was attended by many of Mr Nutter’s friends including TV Chef Simon Rimmer, with whom he works on the UKTV Food channel.

The atmosphere for the evening was set the moment guests turned onto the restaurant driveway to find it spectacularly lit by 100 flaming torches.

A champagne reception on arrival with a harpist playing in the background was followed by the Gala dinner. The menu included many Lancashire themed dishes such as Black Pudding, Lancashire Lobster and other such specialities.

The Chicago Teddybears, a 7-Piece Jazz Band, provided the entertainment.

Commenting on the evening Andrew Nutter said “The dinner was a fantastic success, we had nearly 160 people attend”.

Mr Nutter also commented on the fund raising that took place on the night, “We had a charity raffle going on right through the evening which managed to raise nearly £2,000 for The Christie Hospital in Manchester which is great news”.
