Falinge Park High School - ‘Adopt a Class’

Date published: 12 January 2016

Miss Bryant’s 9 Spanish class is taking part in a year-long project called ‘Adopt a Class’, which involves a university undergraduate studying languages embarking on a year abroad partnering up with a class. The aim of this project is for students to see what life is like in Spain and to enthuse students about studying languages post GCSE.

Our student is called Jennie and she is studying Spanish and Portuguese at university. She has been keeping us updated by writing blogs and emailing students individually in Spanish or in English. She came into school to meet our class on Tuesday 5 January, where she introduced herself and told us about life in Madrid. She also told us about the fun things she did when she was there. The students asked lots of questions and she kindly answered them in “Spanglish”!

We really enjoyed being part of this programme and can’t wait to see Jennie again. She is now going to spend the next part of her year abroad in Portugal and we hope to see her again when she comes back, to learn all about her life in Lisbon.
