Thank you to all parents who attended the recent literacy afternoon in the library. It was a lovely afternoon with students, parents and staff sharing ways of working. We are vey proud of the progress our students are making with their literacy.

Springhill are hosting the interschool Rochdale indoor rowing competition on Monday 14 December after school.

We invited pupils from St Peters to the BTEC Drama Performance Show on Tuesday and we would like to say thank you and well done to all Year 10 drama students who performed brilliantly. Everyone enjoyed the performances and good reviews were received.

The speaking and listening day for Year 10 will be on Monday and is a great opportunity to complete two out of the three tasks you need to do for your GCSE English. Good luck to all!

The second taster day organised by Cartwright Arts for students from the Newbold area will be at school at 3.30pm in the main hall on Monday; come & show your acting, dancing and singing talents off.

On Wednesday 9 December the Year 10 students visited the Rochdale and Middleton Campus of Rochdale College for a taster afternoon.

We will be closing for our Christmas Holidays on Friday 18 December and will reopen for pupils on Tuesday 5 January 2010.
