Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 04 April 2014

On Saturday 29 March a number of our Dads and their children enjoyed a fun packed day at Hothersall Lodge in Lancashire. They worked together through a number of adventurous activities in the great outdoors and had a brilliant time! Big thanks go to Mrs Coward, Miss Wild and Mrs Hollywood for organising the day!

Well done to all the Hamer Stars of the Week for week ending 4 April 2014 they are:

Well done to Mrs Graham’s class again for the best attendance for week ending 28th March 2014. Please support us by ensuring that your child is on time and in school every day.

The Citizens of the Week for week ending 4 April are Miss Nicholson’s class for a fantastic assembly all about the life cycle of a chick. Well Done!

Extended Holiday Visits - Please can parents ensure that they are communicating with school within an appropriate time scale (not a day or two before!) if you are advising school that your child will be absent. No absences are authorised and your child will be taken off role after a 20 day period of absence. Despite this, there is still an expectation to liaise with school and keep us fully informed. Thank you.

Parents Consultations have been taking place across school this week. Thank you to the parents who made appointments and came into school to discuss their child’s progress and future learning targets. The last parent questionnaire stated that parents wanted more opportunities for parent consultations and to talk about their child’s targets. These currently happen every term but not all parents/carers attend. Remember if parents are unable to attend on the given weeks they are welcome to come in at another time to speak to the teacher. We really need parents to continue to work with us so they are fully involved in supporting the children’s learning.

Once again, we need to remind parents all to be considerate and drive carefully around the car park. There have been a number of concerned parents this week about the speed at which some cars are travelling. It is all of our responsibilities to keep all of our children safe. Thank you.

Wishing you all a safe and happy break over the Easter Holidays. Please note that school closed on Friday and will re-open on Tuesday 22 April 2014 at 8.50am. All holiday dates are on the school website. Please ensure you check these as many schools are closed at different times this Easter. Thank you.
