Wardle Academy Intermediate and Junior Bands with Littleborough churches for their annual Pentecost Walk of Witness
On Sunday 8 June members of the Wardle Academy Intermediate and Junior Bands joined with Littleborough churches for their annual Pentecost Walk of Witness.
The procession walked, marched and played for a mile and a half along Halifax Road from St Andrew’s Church, Dearnley to Hare Hill Park, Littleborough.
Other churches joined in along the way and the band played the hymns for the service which was led by the Reverend Canon Sharon Jones.
Janet Emsley, Director of Performing Arts, said: "It was the band’s first official marching job and they were superb. They were well-turned out and their music was well-received."
The Wardle Academy Intermediate and Junior Bands will be participating in the walks on Whit Friday morning in Mossley.
The Wardle Academy Youth Band will be playing in a number of contests on Friday Evening.
