Science & Technology Day

Date published: 09 July 2014

Mr Mitchell and Mrs Barnes took 12 gifted and talented Kingsway Park High School students to Rochdale Sixth Form for the Rochdale Schools Science & Technology Day recently.

Students were involved in tasks such as using police ‘e-fit’ software, building a structure with limited materials, programming robots to negotiate a course and creating an elastic band transmission buggy.

The students were paired up with students from other schools in the borough and were awarded points accordingly.

Of the eight schools present Kingsway Park were represented on a task winning team and were fortunate to have representatives on the overall winning team for the day, which in turn guarantees qualification for the North West finals later in the year.

The 12 students who attended the day worked very hard and worthy winners of their final placing.
