Hamer Community Primary School

Mrs Hoyle and Mrs Bradshaw accompanied some of our Key Stage 2 children to see a stage production of Michael Morpurgo’s “War Horse”. The children reported that the production was excellent and their teachers were so proud of their wonderful behavior. Well done!

We have started the year with more really lively Maths Consultancy. Our Upper Key stage 2 teachers came back with lots of fun and challenging ideas to help the children to be the very best mathematicians they can be.

The Upper Key Stage 2 team is starting to organize things ready for the Year 5 trip to Robinwood in January. The Year 5 parents will soon be invited into school to see what this brilliant experience involves.

The Year 6 children hosted the Thursday class assembly this week. We learned lots about their current project on “the brain” and also we had a performance of choral poetry which was fantastic. It was nice to see some parents there and please remember that all parents are invited to class assembly on Thursday and also the celebration assembly on Friday, both are 9.10am to 9.30am.

Mr Moore the new Head would like to say that how impressed he is with our school and to see so many happy faces coming in each morning and to see children working hard and displaying beautiful manners and behaviour everywhere,

Please can all parents make sure that dinner money is brought in with your children. In rare cases where this is not possible, the office can only accept dinner money between 9am and 9.30am after your children have been dropped off.

Springside parents are still experiencing problems with accessing the disabled parking spaces at the beginning and end of the day due to non-blue badge holders using them. Please, only use the spaces if you have a blue badge.

We are also concerned about the small section of road that leads onto the car park and also the exit road where people have been pulling up or parking. This must not happen as we need to keep these areas safe for our children and families.
