Walk To School Week – 6 October
During the week beginning Monday, 6 October we will be taking part in ‘Walk to School Week’. Each child will receive a slip which will be stamped each day if they walk to school. A small prize will be given for children who have walked to school every day during this week.

Reminder to Unit One Parents
The voluntary contribution of £10.00 snack money is now due for the year. We do appreciate your help and support.

Privacy Notice 2014/15
Information on the above is displayed on the school noticeboard and also on the school website. If you would like a paper copy please ask at the school office.

Year 6 Children Attending Falinge Park High School Open Day
If your child wishes to attend Falinge Park High School Open Day on Monday, 29 September here is just a reminder of what the arrangements are:
Please complete and return to Shawclough the tear off slip on your letter
Your child will need to go directly to Falinge – the day starts at 9.15 am
Your child will need to wear their Shawclough School uniform
Your child will not need to take any money
The day will end at 2.45 pm and your child will need to make their own way home

Year 6 Children Attending Whitworth High School Open Day
If your child wishes to attend Whitworth High School Open Day on Thursday, 25 September here is a reminder of the arrangements:
Your child will need to go directly to Whitworth High – the day starts at 9.15am
Your child will need to take their PE kit
If your child is not entitled to free school meals they will need a packed lunch or £2.00 to buy a school meal
The day will end at 3.00 pm and your child will need to make their own way home

Reminder: At the end of the school day the main corridor needs to be kept clear. Please wait in the dining hall for children from Units 2/3/4. Please use Unit 1 Outside doors for collecting from Unit 1. This will ease congestion in school. Thank you for your support.

Early Arrivals
Children who arrive at school, without an adult, before 8.30 a.m. will be put into Early Start Club – they are not allowed to wait alone in the entrance. This is to ensure your children’s safety.

Free School Meals
If you are entitled to Free School Meals you do need to claim – please see Mrs Meek in the school office for information (even if you are choosing packed lunches for your child). By the way children can choose a sandwich option from our ‘pick and go’ menu.

Early Start Club/Tea Time Club
If your child is attending Early Start or Tea Time Club please would you leave school via the appropriate outside door and not walk through the building. If you need to speak with a member of staff please walk around the building to the reception area. Thank you.

  • Reception waterproof clothing contribution due in school
  • Peach & Amber classes visiting Healey Dell on the morning of the 22 September
  • Yellow & Orange classes visiting Healey Dell on the morning of the 23 September
  • Walk to School Week 6 October
  • Governing Body meeting 6 October 6.30pm in school – all welcome
  • Year 5 Robinwood Activity Holiday – deposit due 3 October
  • Walk to School Week 6-10 October 2014 

The School Day starts at 8.40 a.m., children should be in their classroom by this time or they are late for school.
