This week we are holding our Student Council elections in each department and the first meeting of the new council will take place next week. This is a vital aspect of the pupil voice in school, and I look forward to meeting those who have been elected as we continue to further improve the school.

Thank you for the support of parents and carers to ensure the transition has been so smooth. Bridging Year Programme - 'Top Gear' Top Students

After a successful first year vocational course at Mantra, four of our 'Bridgers' took part in a fantastic day yesterday at Aintree race circuit. They had the opportunity to test drive the kit car they had constructed last year as part of their vocational programme. What an amazing opportunity and I look forward to hearing about their adventure in assembly on Friday when the car will also make a visit.

This week we held our Open Day for families and youngsters in Years 5 and 6 in local schools who may be starting at Redwood in the near future. Thank you to those students in Years 7 & 8 who took part in the planning by acting as escorts to parents and carers.

Hydrotherapy Pool

You will be aware from a previous newsletter that we are experiencing some difficulties with the hydrotherapy pool provision. We have been told by the contractors that this may be a lengthy process and we are looking at an alternative hydro provision for our youngsters. I will be writing to individual families in the near future to give an update.
