Reflection for the week

Taken from Pope Francis’ Twitter account 20 September 2014 - “Dear young people listen within; Christ is knocking at the door of your heart.”

What is the Pope asking of us when he speaks to children in this way?

School trip

Classes Da Vinci and Pankhurst will be visiting Eureka, Halifax on Wednesday, 19 November. They will attend a fun show where children explore the very important side of the human body.

Project Harar raffle

We will be selling raffle tickets for  a hamper kindly donated by Mrs Skilling, Chair of Governors, to raise money for Project Harar. Tickets will be on sale at the harvest festival and for the next two weeks; the draw will take place just before half term.

Help your children to learn

Parents/carers are asked to help children with their learning by listening to them read their books. Please sign their reading log so that teaching staff know when to change their books.

Admission to primary school

Another very important reminder for admission to primary school: September 2015
Parents/carers of children in our nursery class will have received a letter and application form for primary school places in September. Please ensure that you complete and return the application to the schools admissions team at Rochdale Council before 15 January 2015. Alternatively, applications can be completed online at www.rochdale.gov.uk

If you need help to complete this form, please ask a member of staff in the school office or nursery.

Punctuality

Children should be in school by 8.50am unless they are attending breakfast club which starts at 8am.

School Meals As you may be aware, as from September 2014, school meals are free of charge for all children in Reception and KS1. However, if you are in receipt of income support, income-based jobseekers allowance or income-related employment support allowance or child tax credit, parents/carers are asked to apply through the benefits service for free school meals.

Please ensure that all dinner money is paid on a weekly basis unless otherwise agreed with the school office.
