Beech House School hosts the ISA North of England Arts Festival

Date published: 15 October 2014

Beech House School hosted the ISA North of England Arts Festival. Exhibits were on display from pupils between the ages of 2 and 19.

The standard was very high and the two judges, John Cooke and Julian Smith had a difficult time in selecting the winners.

The school was very successful.

Thomas Stott, Holly Scott, Harvey Mondino and Henna Akhtar and Year 5, in two sections, all won their categories.

Their entries will now go forward to the National finals in Leicester next month.

Second places went to Natalie El-Hage, Henna Akhtar, Rebecca Whitaker, Zahra Naqvi, Aliasgahar Abbas, Haider Hussain, Mehmoona Naqvi, Year 1 and Year 4.

Third places were awarded to Fiza Ahmad, Rebecca Whitaker, Henna Akhtar, in two section, and Reception.

The under 13 Netball played against Wardle. Both teams started well with lots of good periods of possession. Wardle took an early lead but the game flowed very quickly from end to end. Beech House had several opportunities to score but this was an off day for them. Wardle won the match 0-3 but it was another steady performance from the team and they are growing in confidence with each game. Player of the match was Natalie El-Hage.

The under 9 football team played in their first competitive tournament at Hopwood Hall College. For many of the boys this was their first experience of competitive play. On a rather large pitch the boys acquitted themselves well. They lost two matches and drew one. Player of the day was Dylan Gaucas.

This week’s House Point totals are: Neptune 18, Jupiter 17, Mercury 16 and Saturn 8.
Form of the week was shared between 7G and 10B.

Year 1 Imaan Afzal
Year 2 Adham Rafique
