Hamer Community Primary School

Thank you to all our wonderful parents, who came along to the book sale in school before the half term break. The organisers of the sale told us that they made more book sales here than anywhere else!! We are proud of this because it reflects the dedication of our families to support and enjoy reading in the home with the children. Thank you and keep up the brilliant work at home!

As you know, the School Photographer was in school on Friday 7 November. It was lovely to see the children all looking very smart in their school uniform.

Miss Mullane is going to be setting up a Road Safety Awareness Group for the children. As part of the Leadership Development within this context, you will soon expect Pupil Traffic Safety Marshalls to be present, at times, on our car park. Please understand that they have a key role to play in helping us all to keep safe around school and support them in any safety requests they might present.

We still have a number of places available in our Breakfast Club. If you are interested in a place please call into the school office for a form. Breakfast Club starts at 8.15am every morning with a choice of food and drink, plus lots of great activities to keep the children amused before the start of the school day.

We have once again arranged for Bag 2 School to take place at school. This is an ideal opportunity to sort through your wardrobes and cupboards and donate unwanted clothes, shoes, hats, belts handbags and soft toys. (no bedding, curtains and household linen can be accepted).

Bag2Bag will be collecting from school at 9am on Friday 28 November 2014.

On Friday 14 November 2014 it is Children in Need and the children from the school council have asked if we can do fundraising. The children have decided to come to school in their pyjamas and we are asking for a 50p donation in return for the children being allowed to wear their pyjamas.

We will also be selling Children in Need wristbands across the week which we will be selling for £1.

If anyone has not yet reserved their nursery place for January, now is the time to get in touch. We still have one or two places available. It might be helpful to others in the community that you might know of who are in need of a place, so that they can join the fabulous Hamer Community, while places remain.

If you have already accepted a place, Miss Bradshaw will soon be in touch and we look forward to welcoming your child into school in January.
