Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 22 November 2014

On Wednesday 26 November our community cohesion ambassadors, along with Mr Moore and Miss Mullane, will be spending the day at Rochdale Cricket Club. They will be working with their counterparts from Marland Hill Primary School and we are sure that a fantastic day will be had by all.

On Thursday 27 November the class assembly will be taken by Mr Khan’s class. We look forward to seeing parents/families of the class in school for a 9.10am start.

The children in Year 5 were recently given the opportunity to take part in some lantern making workshops in school and much fun was had by all. This was in preparation for the annual Lantern Parade that takes place on Saturday 22 November in Rochdale town centre. We would like to thank the students, parents and staff that are planning to go and take part in order to represent the school and if anyone would like to watch the parade, it starts at the top of Yorkshire Street at 3:30pm and ends in the Butts with activities on offer for all the family.

We have had some complaints from parents/visitors to the school about double parking. We do need, even with limited space, to maintain polite etiquette around parking. If people are dashing off to an appointment and can’t get out because someone else’s car is blocking them, tensions can rise. Please don’t block in any other cars and please remember that you can use the M6 car park up the ramp at the back of our car park. Thank you.

Dave Godfrey, one of the maths consultants that we work closely with, will be in school on Wednesday. He will be working with the teaching teams across school, in order to further develop our use of the school’s ‘ Visual Calculation Policy ‘ (VCP)

Please remember that we have once again arranged for Bag 2 School to take place at school. This is an ideal opportunity to sort through your wardrobes and cupboards and donate unwanted clothes, shoes, hats, belts handbags and soft toys. (no bedding, curtains and household linen can be accepted)

Bag2Bag will be collecting from school at 9am on Friday 28 November 2014.
