Christingle

Father Michael has invited all families to attend the Christingle Service which will be held in St. Gabriel’s Church, Castleton at 3pm on Sunday 21 December.

This invitation is for all children, in particular, those taking part in the sacramental programme this year. We hope that you can attend; Father Michael would love to see you there.

Advent Mass

A whole school Advent Mass will take place at St. John the Baptist Church on Thursday, 4 December. All parents and carers are welcome.

Church news

Thank you for all who attended the Church Christmas Fair on Saturday. All proceeds will go towards vital repairs for the Church.

The winner of the colouring competition went to Ishtar, a pupil at St. John’s. As you can see, she is a worthy winner with her beautiful and artistic work. Well done Ishtar!

School photographs

All orders for school photographs will be collected on Wednesday, 26 November. Please ensure all your orders are returned before this date with correct money sealed in the envelope.

Photographs will be returned to the school in December, these will be distributed as soon as the school receives them.

Coffee and cake afternoon

The coffee and cake sale raised £220. Thank you for supporting this cause.

Our gymnastics team took silver place at the gymnastics event held at Cardinal Langley School on Thursday 13, November.

Important health matters

Please ensure that all asthmatic children have a spare inhaler to leave in the classroom in case of emergency. Please note that they must be in the original box and labelled with the dispensing chemist, date prescribed and name of child.

Parent’s questionnaire

Thank you for returning the school questionnaire, this is currently being analysed and results will be published next week.

Punctuality

Please, make sure your child is in school on time. We had 32 children late on Monday which is unacceptable.

A child 5 minutes late for school every morning equates to over three missing school days. This has a huge impact on children’s learning as well as being disruptive for children who have already started their work.

Children must be in school no later than 8.50 each morning unless they are attending breakfast club, then they should arrive for 8am.
