Ben Whiteman in FA Cup Debut
Date published: 27 November 2014
Ben Whiteman, a former student at Siddal Moor, made his Sheffield United first team debut on Tuesday at home at Bramall Lane against Crewe Alexandra in the FA Cup.
Ben has been playing for Sheffield United for approximately two years.
Mr Cooke, his mentor when he was at Siddal Moor, said: “He was always a high flyer where sport was concerned and would have succeeded at whatever he put his mind to.
“Whilst at Siddal Moor Ben won an award for 100% attendance over the full five years that he was a student.”
The school is currently running a project called "Where are they now?" in which former students like Ben are asked to get in touch to be part of a poster campaign based around the school to promote career aspirations and the success of former students once they leave Siddal Moor.
If you are a former student who would like to take part, then please contact Mr Walmsley at Siddal Moor on 01706 369436.
