Pupils and staff raised money for a selection of children’s charities by wearing silly sweaters and terrible ties on the last day of school before the Christmas Holiday. The total raised was over £500.00. Teacher, Mrs Uddin organised the event with her form group O5. She was very proud of her students.

Many thanks to all the students who attended our Arts Mark Gold Celebration Party at the end of last term. Students and staff enjoyed a lunchtime celebration with balloons, food and fun arts activities to enjoy. We are delighted to discover that we were designated as an Arts Mark Gold school for the third time last term and we will celebrate our achievement further very shortly. For more details, contact Mr De Courcey.

Arts Award Club runs every Friday after school from 2.45pm until 4.00pm and is open to students of all years. The club allows learners the opportunity to achieve Arts Award Bronze or Silver, working at their own pace. The club is open to students interested in all art forms. See Mr De Courcey for more details.

Drama Club starts again this term and takes place each Tuesday after school from 2.45pm until 4.00pm in the Drama studio. The club is run by Mr Mvula and features improvisation activities and drama games. It is a great way to make new friends and build drama skills at the same time. See Mr Mvula for more details.

There are two new competitions available for students this term from the Creative, Expressive and Performing Arts Faculty as we start the rehearsal process for our April show, ‘The Odyssey’. The first competition is a large wordsearch task whilst the other invites students to design a mask for one of two characters in the show; either Circe or Tiresias. The entry forms are available from Group Tutors, the CEPA Office or are available to download directly from our website.

Tickets for our show, ‘The Odyssey’ are now available to purchase directly from the CEPA Office. An adaptation of the epic tale by Homer, our story features strange creatures, brave warriors and a pinch of magic. Set in the distant future, the adaptation promises to be something special for the whole family. Tickets are priced £3.00 (no concessions) and are available in advance only. For more details, please contact Mr De Courcey.

Year 11 BTEC Drama and Dance students have been preparing for their written examinations and have been given practice papers to complete. Students that require additional support or one-to-one tutorial time with staff should contact Ms Wystawnoha or Mr Mvula as soon as possible.

Our second Arts Award Expo takes place at the end of January and will showcase the work and portfolios of students from across the years as they complete their Arts Award Silver or bronze. The expo will give families and friends a better understanding of the work involved in the Arts Award and allow other students the opportunity to see the range of pathways available in the Arts. For dates and times, please see further details on our school website.
