Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 09 January 2015

The Year 5 children recently took part in activities at the Robinwood Activity Centre in Cumbria. The children enthusiastically took part in some very daring activities involving teamwork, communication and bravery. Well done to all the children involved.

Both morning and afternoon Nursery classes went out into the community this week with a shopping list to use in some of our local shops. The children were very interested and enthusiastic! Thank you to our fabulous parents and Grandparents who came to learn with us and supervise the children. Also the Citizens of the week for week ending 9th January was awarded to the Nursery children for their excellent behaviour on this trip and for asking lots of questions. Well Done!

Please ensure that the children have their PE kit in school every time they have PE including indoor pumps. Also a reminder that the children who attend lunchtime football coaching club, must also bring their pumps. If the weather is not suitable, the coaching takes place in the school Hall and ONLY indoor pumps may be worn in this case. Otherwise, the children would have to miss the session.

Maths Passports: Breaking News. Mrs Terry will be launching an exciting competition with the children next week. Further details to follow

Thank you to all of our car park users who do not use the disabled parking bays unless they have a blue badge. You will know that there have been many appeals for Blue Badge Parking rules to be respected and sadly, there are still many parents with a genuine need to use the bays, unable to park there. Please, never park in the disabled parking bays at any time unless you are the holder of a blue badge.

We have only been back a week into the new term and already some children uniforms, coats etc. have been lost in school. Please can parents make sure that every item worn in school is labelled with their children names on it including school PE pumps. It saves a lot of time in the class if things have names on them. Thank you.
