Annie

Congratulations to all the cast in 'Annie', backstage support, front of house, staff and musicians. The production was both professional and outstanding. Liz McInnes MP for Heywood and Middleton thoroughly enjoyed the show being impressed by the talent and professionalism shown, not being able to believe that the cast were aged between 11 and 16years. The site staff worked extremely hard clearing the snow to ensure that the show could go on for its final night – thank you.

This week students will be voting for who will represent the voice of young people across the borough as the Member of Youth Parliament, Kenya Stirling one of our Year 10 students has been shortlisted as one of the candidates for this important position. The successful candidate will be announced at a ceremony at the town hall on February 11. We wish Kenya good luck in the election.

Year 10 students will all sit a science ISA this week.

Year 7 news – 7:2 won the attendance vivos for last week and form star of the week is

Grace Dawe, vivo rewards have been issued to you all, well done.

7:1 enjoyed reflection time during form period in the Chapel with Kath Ansley and their form tutor Miss Burrow.

Congratulations to our year 7 girls and boys who won the Rochdale indoor athletics at Kingsway Park, all receiving gold medals, they now go through to the next round which is county level.

The Scholastic Book Fair takes place in school 2- 6 February in the Library, with over 200 titles to choose from. More details from Mrs Russell in the LINC

In spite of the inclement weather we welcomed St Mary’s RC Primary Year 5 pupils into the LINC to continue their Creative Media projects with Mrs Moore creating adverts for their school.

Reminder – Pupils should not have mobile phones switched on during lesson time, if you need to contact your child during the school day please phone the school office.
