Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 23 January 2015

The children and staff thoroughly enjoyed a quite hilarious version of Cinderella when a theatre company visited us on Monday this week. The children had a brilliant time and behaved so well, joining in with enthusiasm in all the right places. Well done Hamer children.

Miss Holden arranged for some of our Year 6 children to represent the school football team at Rochdale Football Club last Saturday afternoon. Despite the freezing weather, our talented footballers represented the school fabulously. Also the Citizens of the week ending 23 January 2015 was awarded to the football team for representing school in such a positive way at the match.

Brrrrrrrr…..what a cold week! We are so grateful to all of our Hamer parents for being able to come and collect children when we took the decision to close earlier on Wednesday due to the heavy snow conditions. Thank you for your support.

Mr Khan and our ICT development consultant, Mr Chaudry, have been enjoying working on the new computing curriculum at Hamer together this week. Children from Year 1 up to Year 6 are now designing and making their own computer games and puzzles. Mr Chaudry has been really impressed with the children’s programming and de-bugging skills. Well done again to our very impressive Hamer children.

This is a polite reminder that the school policy is to ensure visits to the barbers do not result in any lines, patterns or shapes cut into children’s hair. Also to minimise the opportunities for Headlice to find homes in our hair, please can all longer hair be tied back/pinned and bobbled. Thank you.
