Year 7 News

X-factor star Danny Dearden spent Friday afternoon with Y7 to share his experiences and deliver a very powerful internet safety message on cyberbullying. He was given a very warm welcome. 

Maths news

Following the completion of the UKMT Intermediate maths challenge we are delighted to announce that we have several pupils who have been awarded certificates and even have a pupil who has made it through to the next round.

Prizes awarded are as follows

Year 11

 

  • Ben Hartnell Booth - Best result for school, Best result in Yr 11, Gold Certficate and through to the next round. This is a huge achievement as this is a national competition and we wish Ben the best with this.
  • James Kelsall - Silver certificate
  • Joel Thetford - Silver certificate
  • Jessye Dawson - Silver certificate
  • Daniel Lowe – Silver certificate
  • Joshua Watkinson - Bronze certificate
  • Kacper Amanowski - Bronze certificate
  • Jordan Booth - Bronze certificate
  • Sophie Mannion - Bronze certificate

Year 10

 

 

  • Matthew Haynes - Best result in Yr 10 and Silver certificate Robert Dunne - Bronze certificate

World Book Day

 

World Book Day celebrations in the library included a lunchtime quiz, lots of prizes and certificates were given out to pupils. Photos are on display in the Library.   Staff were invited to build a LITERARY BRICK WALL with the details of their favourite book and £1 BOOK TOKENS were distributed via form teachers on the day.

Sports News

The Under 16's Basketball competed in the Greater Manchester County finals finishing in 5th place. They gave a good account of themselves playing against some excellent opposition including many England players.

Lenten Charities

Activities are well underway raising money for our charities ranging from home bake sales to raffles to sponsored events.

The form with the highest attendance was form 1 with 99.2% attendance - vivos issued to the whole class.
