Congratulations to date to all our students who have participated successfully in the Rochdale Festival of Music and Performing Arts. Students have achieved a range of accolades, including prestigious ‘Honours’ awards for band work, percussion, guitar and vocal performances. We will keep you up-to-date with the achievements and news via our school website over the next few weeks.

Students of Drama have attended a performance of ‘Forever Young’ at The Oldham Coliseum Theatre this week as part of their curriculum offer. Mr Mvula and other staff led the visit. A great time was enjoyed by all.

The school successfully raised over £600.00 as part of our Red Nose Day Charity Fund-raising events last Friday. Breaktime and lunchtime activities meant staff and students alike enjoyed fun sessions with a serious message. Well done to everyone who participated in the day’s events. For more details, contact Mrs Sapsford.

Tickets for our forthcoming production of ‘The Odyssey’ on 24 April 2015 at 6pm are available now directly from school, priced £3.00. There are no concessions and seating is limited. Please contact S. Wilcock for more details. Tickets can be bought in school at breaktimes, lunchtimes or after school directly from the CEPA Office. Rehearsals for the show are taking place in lessons and after school. A rehearsal timetable will be issued to all students involved this week.

Tickets of our forthcoming Music Show, titled ‘Ignite’ can be bought directly from school. Tickets are priced £3.00 and are available directly from the CEPA Office at breaktimes, lunchtimes or after school.

Letters for our forthcoming sponsored walk have been handed out to all students across school and the reply forms should be returned promptly. The day proves to be very popular with students and weather permitting; we enjoy a walk in the fresh air. See Ms Wood for more details.

A new Creative, Expressive and Performing Arts Faculty competition launches this week which asks that students design a comic strip for the character of Odysseus in the forthcoming show. Entry Forms are available directly from the CEPA Office, via Group Tutors or via our school website. See Mr De Courcey for more details.

We are delighted to announce that the school has been awarded the 360 E-Safety Award this week. This prestigious award recognises the great work we do in keeping our staff and students safe and well equipped in their online work. Well done to everyone who helped to achieve this award. For more details, please see Mrs Smith and Mrs Clarke.

The latest edition of ‘Create’ Termly Arts Magazine will be released this week and copies will be available from our school website or via group tutors. Paper copies of the Arts magazine are also available from school. See Mr De Courcey for more details.
