Hamer Community Primary School

We want to say a huge thank you to our fabulous Year 6 children and their families for all the hard work going in to preparing for the SATs exams. We are nearly there, with exam week being in just over one week, week beginning 11 May. Keep up the final effort everyone.

All Year 6 children during SATS week are invited to arrive at school at 8.30am where school will provide breakfast for everyone. It also gives us that little bit of extra time to help the children feel secure and positive about each important day of the important week.

A reminder, that there are photographs on our website of the recent Family Fun Day. We were delighted to welcome over 180 families to have fun with sports, arts and the bouncy castle. It was really lovely to see so many of you here and we hope you enjoyed the fun as much as we did.

Next week we will be able to tell you the amount of food we managed to donate to this fantastic charity. Thank you to our very generous, community-spirited Hamer families!

Maths Stop
Please can parents encourage children to have a go at the problems that were given out last week. The children can post their entries into the basket on the corridor At the end of next week, Mrs Terry will select a child from each unit to be a ‘Maths Monster’ and they will receive a certificate and pencil and have their photographs posted on the website. So watch this space for Maths Monsters….!

Due to the Foodbank collection and subsequent change of focus for our Friday Assembly, there were no Assembly Stars this week. There will be more next week though, so watch out for those special invitations again soon.

Well done to Miss Holden’s class for the best attendance for week ending 24 April 2015. Please support us by ensuring that your child is on time and in school every day.

Just a reminder, that school is closed on Monday for the National May Bank Holiday. We hope you have a lovely, longer, Family Weekend.
