Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 08 May 2015

Next week is a very important week for all of our Year 6 students, as it is SATS testing week across the country.

We are so proud of all the hard work and effort that the pupils have put into preparing for these tests and would like to thank the staff in the unit for working tirelessly in order to get the very best from our children. Good luck to you all! We know you can do it!

In order to make the week run smoothly for the children in Year 6, and provide them with the best opportunities possible, we would like children to arrive at school for 8:30am Monday –Thursday where we will be running a FREE breakfast club. This will enable the children to have chance to mingle with their peers, discuss any worries they have with staff, have a filling and healthy breakfast and then do some ‘wake up’ activities so they are ready for their SATS.

Due to SATS next week there will be no assemblies. Assemblies will resume as normal the following week.

The Bags2school letter and bags which were recently sent home can be filled with any unwanted (clean) items of clothing and bedding. Please return the bags for collection on Thursday morning.

Well Done to the winners of Monster Maths this week they are:
Early Years Foundation – Ayaan Hussain
Key Stage 1 – Aram Barzinjy
Lower Key Stage 2 – Zain Mohammed
Upper Key Stage 2 – Sonia Idris
The photographs of the winners will be on our website next week.

Please can parents/carers continue to support children at home with their homework, which includes: Learning Logs, spellings, reading and Maths Passports. By working in partnership, we can make a huge difference and the impact can be clearly seen. Thank you
