Key Stage 3 Cricket Team

Well done to the Key Stage 3 cricket team, who have made it through to the semi-finals of the Rochdale Schools’ Cricket Cup Competition.

They played three games in total and were undefeated throughout the day, with their victories by margins of over 50, 80 and 100 runs.

Huge congratulations to the players involved: Ben Whitehead, Marcus Welsby, Thomas Booth, Lewis Midgley, Danny Devine, Aadam Latif, Babar Rashid, Rayhan Iqbal and Ismail Shahzada.

Man of the Match was Marcus Welsby for some outstanding fielding and a good bowling performance.

Thank you to Mr Pickles for training the team and accompanying them on the day. We will give updates on their progress throughout the competition.

Internal Exam week

Students in Years 7-10 are currently preparing for the Internal Exam week, commencing on Monday 15 June. Please encourage your child(ren) to prepare thoroughly for these exams, as they are good practice for future GCSE examinations.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

On Thursday 18 and Friday 19 June, students undertaking the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award will be completing their final expedition. They will be travelling to Edale in the Peak District, where they will participate in two days of walking, navigating, cooking for themselves and camping. We wish all students involved the best in achieving their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Gifted and Talented students

Year 7 Gifted and Talented students will be visiting the Lowry on Friday 19 June, where they will take part in an artist workshop which will allow them to develop their personal, learning and thinking skills.

They will also have the opportunity to build on work that they have already completed in English, Humanities and Expressive Arts. We hope they have an enjoyable and informative time.
