Lost shoes

One of our children has lost a pair of silvery green ‘Converse’ shoes, size 12. If anyone knows anything about their whereabouts please could they let the office know. Thank you.

Classes and Teachers for September

I am finalising the plans for new classes and staff ready for September.
On 7 July children will spend the morning in their new class with the new teacher.
Most classes will move up together to their new classroom. The exception to this will be children currently in Reception who will be ‘mixed’ differently into their Y1 classes as we feel that the current arrangement is not appropriately balanced to support learning for all children.Details will follow soon

Attendance Ted was won by 1M who had 99.3% attendance last week.

On Time Ted was won by 2C - who had no children late for school – Well Done!!

End of Year Reports

These will be distributed to parents and carers in the final week of the school year. The format is similar to previous years but has some important differences.
This is because of the introduction of the new National Curriculum. Schools are instructed that they must no longer use ‘levels’ but devise their own systems of judging where children are attaining.

The new National Curriculum has been introduced for Y1 and Y3-5, but for this year Y2 and Y6 have taught the old Curriculum and been assessed on it too.
Assessment outcomes (results) in Y2 and Y6 are reported in the same way as previous years using levels and points, with a ‘progress’ measure from the end of the last year.

In Y1, Y3, Y4 and Y5 the assessed levels are reported as Stages, in line with our new assessment system. There are guidance notes to explain what these mean. Because this system is new it will not be possible for these year groups to have a progress measure from the year before.

There is information on the school website about the new National Curriculum, but, as always, if you would like to know more, please ask.

In addition to assessment information the report includes details of each child’s:
*Behaviour *Effort *Attendance and punctuality *Homework, PE kit and uniform

These are rated: Green= Good/very good; Amber= Acceptable/borderline; Red= Not acceptable

This fits in with our new systems for assessment and behaviour called ‘Assertive Mentoring’
There are also general comments from the teacher and targets in reading, writing and mathematics for next year.
