It was lovely to see parents and children attend our annual Sports Day on Thursday. The weather in the morning was glorious and KS1 and Early Years got to enjoy the races in the lovely sunshine. In the afternoon there was rain but that didn’t dampen our parents and KS2 children’s spirits as we still had a really good turn out and the event was still enjoyed by all. Well done to everyone.

Sponsored Walk on Monday 6 July

Children from Year 3 upwards are walking to and from Hollingworth Lake (the younger children will be walking round the school grounds) to raise money for Rochdale Foodbank, we are asking children to bring a donation of £2.00 toward the cause. The walk is non-uniform, but we are asking children to wear green or blue. Please remember sensible footwear, sunhat and suncream to be applied before school, as we expect the weather to be warm.

On Wednesday 1 July, Mr Nadin and Mrs Coward took our fabulous Ukulele Group to Heybrook for a performance in the IPLCN Instrument Workshop. We awarded the group with certificates for their fantastic performance. Well Done.

Next week children will be having a ‘moving up day’ on Tuesday were they will be going into their new class. It is a very important day and we are sure that the children will have lots to talk about. Also just for information, reports will be given to children on Friday 10 July.
