Cipher Club:

Maths Club is changing to an exciting new challenge on Wednesdays in Room 105. We are taking part in the National Cipher Challenge which is a nationwide, online code breaking competition with a new challenge every week.

This year competitors will be challenged to help Harry track down the Reichsdoktor in postwar Berlin. His enemies are cunning and the story will unfold in a series of short encrypted messages.

Competitors will work with Harry to decipher these documents in order to untangle the truth. You can either work in teams or alone, and will be given access to an online account. Lots of different prizes to be won!! See Miss Crook or Miss Stelfox in Maths for more information.

Wednesday break time:

11.05 - 11.10am to dance & sing to positive, uplifting affirmations. All staff and pupils are welcome. Come and join us.

French Club:

Come along to the French Club on Wednesdays after school with a REAL French person! The French Assistant, Jordan, has come from Paris to show you how fun French is. Join him on Wednesdays after school in Room 003 to play games, learn about French culture and possibly cook some French food!

Spanish Club:

Calling all Year 7s who love learning Spanish! Spanish Club is on Monday in Room 003 with Belle, the Spanish Assistant from Spain! Come along to learn more about
Spanish culture and enjoy lots of fun activities and games!

Welcome to the Zen Den:

Open to staff and pupils on Tuesday and Thursday break time in Room 038 (11:05 to 11:10am). A five minute meditation can have significant positive effects for all. It helps restore balance and improve concentration.

Allow yourself this time to help boost your energy levels naturally. Miss Laycock, Qualified Meditation teacher (Mindfulness).

KS3 Drama Club:

Every Tuesday, 2.50-3.50pm, in Room 038. This club is open to pupils in Year 7 and 8 who can expect to develop their performance and devising skills, as well as perform to real audiences. See Mr Milne for more information.

Competition:

Calling all the budding astronauts from Years 7-9! Would you like to go to space? Do you think you could make the perfect spaceship to take you there?

If the answer is yes, this term’s Science competition might be just for you! Your task is to make a model of your spaceship that you have designed (a small scale version obviously!) Be creative; think about everyday things you could use. For example: shoe boxes, egg boxes, yoghurt pots, etc.

We would like your designs by Friday 6 November, so you have half term to make your submission the best it can be! Submit your designs to your Science teacher by the deadline and be in for the chance to win lots of Vivos and a chocolate prize!

Diary Dates:

  • 23 October: School closes for Half Term
  • 2 November: School re-opens
  • 11 November: GCSE Presentation Evening
