An enjoyable Open Evening showcasing our fantastic facilities and students

Date published: 27 October 2015

Siddal Moor’s 2015 Open Evening took place on Wednesday 7 October and was very well attended by both Year 6 and Year 5 students and their families from many local primary schools, as well as some from further afield, who wanted to see what Siddal Moor has to offer.

The evening went with a bang thanks to the Science department and their flashes and bangs demonstration. The aroma from food technology, where biscuits and cakes were being baked and decorated was certainly drawing in a crowd.

The English department had pulled out all the stops for a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed literacy workshop. Our VEX robots were being put through their paces in technology, where many other hands on activities were available. Children were encouraged to get creative in art, have a go at a sport or time trial in PE and get vocal with our wonderful singers in music.

There were many other activities including quizzes, puzzles, food tasting and interactive displays making the evening a really enjoyable event.

We feel very proud of all that Siddal Moor has to offer and want to thank our student volunteers who gave up their own time to help out on the night. The feedback was very positive and our students proved themselves to be excellent representatives of Siddal Moor, who are obviously very proud of their school.
