St John with St Michael children at Whitworth Cenotaph
Date published: 11 November 2015
Wednesday 11 November marks a very special day in history 'Armistice Day'.
It is a day where people not only commemorate the end of World War one but also remember the fallen and those still at war all over the world.
The children from St John with St Michael CE Primary School in Shawforth attended a very touching service held at Whitworth Cenotaph along with members of the public, local councillors and other local primary schools.
The service was led by Rev. Lyn Woodall and the children said poems, read prayers and bible readings.
The whole ceremony was very touching and well attended, and the children behaved phenomenally well honouring the 2 minute silence and respectfully listening to the Last Post.
