First prize for Milnrow quartet

Milnrow Junior Band recently entered its first slow melody contest at Skelmanthorpe and gained first prize for best quartet ensemble.
The group is trained and conducted by Brent Warren and is made up of Euphonium (Steven Collins), Solo cornet (James Charnock), second cornet (Thomas Harrison) and Tenor Horn (Leanne Kirkby).
The group received 94 points out of 100 and comments from the judges included, "Nice style, good dynamic contrasts" and "work well as a team".
