St Andrew’s, Dearnley

Date published: 10 February 2016

We have a big social event on Saturday week (20 February) with a visit by the ever-popular local group, the Little Jazz Funk Orchestra.

When they came to St Andrew’s for the first time last year they were an absolute wow and we decided then that we must have them again.

Tickets are £7, including supper, and doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start, NOT 7.30pm as mistakenly announced in our monthly magazine. A licensed bar will be open throughout the evening.

To get your tickets see Ada in church or ring her on 07854 703 426 or 01706 536143. You can also pay on the door, but its preferable to get tickets in advance.

Throughout Lent, and starting next week, we have ‘Art and Inspiration’, an hour of reflection and quietness each Thursday in the parish room, from 7.30pm, as we journey towards Easter.

Next month, volunteers will be needed to help with ‘Experience Easter’ when local primary school children will be in church to discover the Easter story on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, March 14, 15, 16.

The parish rota this coming Sunday (Feb 14) is: lay assistants, S Moore, S Walker; readers, J Paterson, C Cook; Intercessions, D Owen; sidespersons, P Paterson, P Shrigley; refreshments, Gillian K, Vera, Dorothy.
