New life Patronal Service at St Ann’s Church

Date published: 15 July 2014

The Bishop of Middleton Rt Revd Mark Davies will be leading a special Patronal Service at St Ann’s Church in Belfield 0n Sunday 27 July.

The church is inviting new families to come and be blessed by the Bishop at the service.

Graham Lindley, Parish Priest, said: “The focus of our service will be ‘New Life’, which has a double meaning. As we want new families to attend the service, their babies hold the physical new life, but also we receive a new life from Jesus through the act of baptism.”

“Everyone is welcome to the service; it is not only for those who are from the parish. We will have tea and biscuits, and there will also be the opportunity to have a picture with the Bishop.”

Graham hopes that the event will help encourage more people to attend the church, particularly young people.

“Our church has a lot to offer for families. We run a Sunday School, a Guides group and a table tennis club.”

The service will begin at 10am at St Ann’s Church, Belfield.
