Speaking of his appointment the Bishop of Manchester, Dr David Walker, said “Ian is a very experienced priest with a strong background in, and love for, parish ministry. He is highly respected for his gifts and talents in his current diocese. I am looking forward to welcoming him both to the Diocese of Manchester and to my own immediate team of colleagues. “

Ian Jorysz said, “I am delighted to be moving back north to serve the Bishop of Manchester as his Senior Chaplain. Manchester is an exciting place to be, and I look forward to playing my new role in supporting the church’s mission in the diocese.”

Stephen Cottrell, the Bishop of Chelmsford, added: "Ian has given great service to the Diocese of Chelmsford and moves to this exciting and important role with our prayers and best wishes."

Ian is married to Maria, a chartered accountant. They have two children, one of whom works in London and the other who will graduate from University this summer.
