Bible Marathon at St Andrew's, Dearnley

Date published: 15 June 2015

Bishop Mark opened the successful Bible Marathon at St Andrew’s, Dearnley last Saturday, 13 June.

The undertaking was to read the Bible from start to finish in one day to mark the 120th anniversary of the Dearnley church, which was opened in 1895.

The ‘marathon’ began at 9.00am and was concluded on schedule at shortly before midnight, a total of 86 different readers having taken part in 20-minute slots, with refreshments in between and those readers who were around in early evening even enjoying a curry takeaway!

Among the readers were civic and police personnel.
