The Bible Marathon was opened by Bishop Mark, it was a huge success and a fitting way to celebrate our St Andrew's Church's 120th anniversary. Thank you to the 84 readers who took part.

On Saturday, June 27, we will be putting on Afternoon Tea in the parish room, organised again this year by Susan Knight.

Tickets priced £8.00 are available from Susan or you can ring her on 01706 371393.

The next parish lunch is Friday,June 26. You only need to contact Elizabeth, 376660 or 07939 491 545, if you are a regular who is not attending or if you are planning to attend for the first time.

The Brownies, who meet on Wednesdays at 6.00pm are urgently in need of new leaders to start in September. If you are interested please contact Gillian Jackson on 07887 551 556.

Names are being taken on the list in the parish room for our trip to the CR Festival Day (Open Day) at the Community of the Resurrection in Mirfield on Saturday, July 11.

Cars will be leaving church at 9.30am, but if there is sufficient demand we will lay on a coach so please add your name to the list as soon as possible so that, either way, we can make the necessary arrangements.

There will be lots of things to do throughout the day, refreshments will be available and we will set off for home after Solemn Evensong, which is timed to start at 5.00pm.
