Goodbye To Heywood Customer Service Centre

Date published: 17/06/2005

Heywood Customer Service Centre moves to a new office at 44/46 Market Street in the centre of Heywood on Monday 27 June, after more than a decade of helping local people to access all Council Services from within the Hind Hill Centre. The new offices, which many will recognise as the former Citizens Advice Bureau premises, are based in the centre of the Heywood shopping district.

All Heywood residents will still be able to access a range of Council services in modern offices in a central location. Gill Brierley, Assistant Customer Services Manager said, "The service will continue to provide the most comprehensive access to all Council services. Our Customer Service Officers can offer help and assistance to anyone with Council related enquiries, and can often advise on Council and related services you aren't aware of by linking your enquiry to all sources of help."

"We also house a range of other agencies, which use the offices to speak to their customers, such as Welfare Rights Advice and the Law Centre."

The Heywood Customer Service Centre deals with over 20,000 enquiries annually, both simple and complex, ranging from housing benefits, council tax benefits and housing queries to highways, leisure passes, bus passes and any other council enquiry. Customer Services are the first point of contact for many people who wish to find information about the Council. We aim to resolve as many enquiries as possible without having to refer customers on to another office. The service has achieved the Government's Charter Mark status, an independently assessed award for demonstrating excellent customer service and continual improvement.

If you would like more information on our services then please visit our new office in the centre of Heywood from 27 June. The office will be open 9am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday with the exception of Tuesday when the office closes at 3.45pm for staff training.
