Network event brings closer co-operation for public services
Date published: 23/09/2005
Employees of more than forty organisations working in Rochdale borough came together this week to meet colleagues and learn from one another. The Team Rochdale event at Rochdale Town Hall helped staff from health services, emergency services, Rochdale Council and many other bodies find out more about each other.
The event also included voluntary sector organisations such as Rochdale Council for Voluntary Service, and the Citizen's Advice Bureau. Private sector partners working with public sector bodies were also at the event.
Rochdale Council's Chief Executive Roger Ellis said, "There are many organisations working to make life better in Rochdale borough. Working in partnerships is an increasing part of what we all do, so it is vital that public services' staff know who is who and what each other does. Knowing more about our partners will help all the organisations to deliver better services to the public."
Displays from all the organisations attending filled the Great Hall, and spilled over into other parts of the building.
The event is a first step to establishing a network of public sector agencies in the Borough. As well as encouraging existing working between agencies, it's hoped that Team Rochdale will help to develop new areas for joint working.
