Robbery of Heywood post office - police appeal

Detectives in Heywood are appealing for information after the robbery of a post office on Wednesday 7 December 2005.
At approximately 5.30pm three men approached a staff member at Hopwood Post Office on Manchester Road, as he pulled down the shutters of the premises. They forced the 61-year-old man back into the post office and behind the counter. One of the offenders then grabbed a woman employee by the throat. The man forced the 61-year-old to hand over a quantity of cash before running off along Isherwood Street.
The 61-year-old man and 57-year-old woman were left shaken but were not injured in the incident.
All three offenders are said to have been wearing black tracksuit bottoms, black hooded tops and black balaclavas. One of the men is believed to have had white writing on the back of his top and white flashes on his trainers.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident.
