Armed robbery at Smithy Bridge Post Office

Detectives in Rochdale are appealing for information after a robbery at a Post Office in Smithy Bridge.
At approximately 11.50am on Wednesday 19 April 2006, three masked men forced their way into the Post Office on Smithy Bridge Road. It's believed they were armed with a bladed weapon, possible a machete.
The men threatened staff and stole a quantity of cash, before leaving the shop. There are no reports of any injuries.
The men were seen leaving the scene in a car. A Ford Mondeo was later found abandoned on Merlin Close and has been taken away for examination.
One of the offenders is described as 6ft tall, slim and was wearing dark clothing and a ski mask. The other two men are described as shorter, stockier, and were also wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.
