Lets beat them by working together

One of the most talked about subjects that I hear as I meet Milnrow and Newhey people is the small number of mindless vandals and yobs that are spoiling the quality of life in the villages by destroying things and verbally abusing people.

Most of our young people work hard at school, get good results, conduct themselves properly, and, like those who helped Lee Brooks from Farmers Choice and his Pennine Precinct Clean Up Team, do good things without any recognition.

Despite Labour cutting the funding Greater Manchester Police needed, we Liberal Democrats have continually campaigned for more Officers out on our streets. That is where they are needed to both reassure the good citizens and send a message to the yobs that we are not going to put up with them.

As Chair of Governors at Moorhouse Primary I was pleased to be able to agree to provide an office at Moorhouse for our Police Community Support Officers to use.

PCSO’s Debbie Watkin, Steven Parker and Alan Shaw can be contacted during school hours on 01706 860 614 at Moorhouse.  Calls can be anonymous, but information is needed to be able to fight back against the yobs.

They can also be contacted on 0161 856 4668 which despite being a Manchester phone number goes through to Littleborough Police Station.

By all working together we will get on top of what has been a problem for too long.
